Designed for working nurses with full-time schedules, this online MSN-FNP program delivers non-clinical courses through a convenient online platform. Clinical courses require partial online participation, plus periodic meetings with faculty that will take place on campus. The curriculum dives into key responsibilities of family nurse practitioners, allowing you to strengthen your professional skills and prepare for the next step in your career.

Admission Requirements

We recommend that applicants have completed at least one year of practice as a registered nurse.

To apply, prospective students must:

  • Complete our free online application
  • Submit official transcripts from all college/universities attended
  • Have a baccalaureate degree in nursing from an accredited college or university program
  • Submit evidence of capability to succeed in a graduate program based on an overall undergraduate GPA of at least a 3.0 (based on a 4.0 system)
  • Have a current license to practice professional nursing in New York State or Ontario
  • Submit two letters of recommendation that include comment on the applicant’s clinical performance (preferably from a supervisor and colleague)
  • Have a current certification in CPR
  • Submit a letter of intent

Canadian RN students must submit two licensure items:

  • A copy of original Certificate of Registration (issued upon passing of initial examination)
  • A copy of Annual Registration Renewal (showing current unencumbered license)

Canadian students must also submit a course-by-course evaluation (or equivalent) of all Canadian college and/or university transcripts through the World Education Services (WES).
