D’Youville’s online MS in Nursing Management and Quality Leadership requires 30 credit hours, and can be completed in less than two years. It is accredited by the American Association of Colleges of Nursing and CCNE. Classes are offered in 15 week sessions, with rolling admissions beginning every spring and fall.

This role does not require a new NEW YORK STATE license. Students residing in New York State who complete the Online MS in Nursing Management and Quality Leadership program meet the educational preparation which along with required management experience may qualify graduates to sit for the American Organization of Nursing Leadership’s Nurse Executive Certification Examination.

Courses and Requirements

The online master’s in nursing management and quality leadership requires 30 credit hours for completion. It is designed to teach necessary leadership skills that allow graduates to move into positions of management and leadership within the healthcare industry. Students will learn to communicate effectively, develop career-specific financial skills, and analyze information to solve organizational issues effectively.

This degree requires a leadership practicum, which includes 180 hours of fieldwork under the supervision of a qualified preceptor and faculty. Students will be able to complete practicum at current place of employment. If out of state, student will need share where they will be doing their practicum and have the school set up an agreement.

Admission Requirements

D’Youville’s online master’s in nursing management and quality leadership accepts students on a rolling admissions basis, with courses that last 15 weeks. In addition to general admission requirements for graduate programs at D’Youville, applicants for the Nursing Leadership and Quality Management online program must present the following:

  • Official transcripts from all colleges/universities attended.
  • A baccalaureate degree in nursing, an entry-level master’s degree, or an entry-level doctoral degree from a program accredited by an organization recognized by the U.S. Department of Education (ACNE/ACCN).
  • An overall GPA of at least 3.0. Applicants with a baccalaureate degree in nursing earned more than five years ago, with an overall GPA less than 3.0 but more than or equal to 2.7 and who have achieved significant professional success as documented on curricula vitae may submit an application for consideration. Preferential admissions will be given to applicants with a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
  • Active unrestricted licensure as a registered nurse in the state where you reside.
  • Two letters of recommendation on clinical performance. (Supervisor, professor, or colleague with an advanced degree).
  • Must be CPR Certified.
  • Submit a CV or Resume and a Personal Statement.

Tuition & Fees

Tuition and fees vary based on program of study and whether you are considered a full- or part-time student. Financial aid can be applied to full- or part-time status. Plus, entering the program with previous academic credit can help lower your costs. Nursing students may transfer up to nine graduate credits with grades of B or better into their program at the discretion of the program director.
